How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only for purposes directly related to the services we provide.  Where Occupational Health Strategy has been engaged by an employer, we will only share information that is relevant to the agreed occupational health service. We will not disclose detailed medical information without your consent unless required or authorised by law.  Fitness-for-work reports provided to employers generally contain recommendations and work capacity information rather than detailed medical diagnoses, unless you have specifically consented to their disclosure.

Storage and Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.  Information may be stored electronically using secure systems and, where applicable, in locked physical storage.  Access to personal information is restricted to authorised personnel who require it to perform their duties.

Disclosure of Information

Your information may be disclosed:

• To you

• To your employer where appropriate and authorised

• To your treating healthcare providers (with your consent where required)

• To laboratories or specialist providers involved in your care

• Where required by law

• Where necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to health or safety

We do not sell or trade personal information.

Retention of Information

We retain personal and health information only for as long as required by law and for legitimate business purposes.  When information is no longer required, it is securely destroyed or permanently de-identified where appropriate.

Access and Correction

You have the right to:

• Request access to your personal information

• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

Website Information

If you visit our website, we may collect limited technical information such as browser type, pages visited and general website usage statistics.  This information helps us improve our website and user experience. It does not generally identify individual users unless required for security or legal purposes.
